I live in a villa from 1956 in Ljungby, Småland, with my partner and three indoor cats. I have two grown children, a daughter studying in Gothenburg and a son living in Chicago, where he is attending college and playing basketball. How did your interest in interior design begin?

Since I was little, I've been rearranging, painting, and fixing things, and I've always had a keen interest in color and form.

What is your favorite room in a home when it comes to interior design, and why?

(bedroom, kitchen, living room, etc.)

It has to be the living room, which has a lovely energy with light coming in from large windows in various directions. I also really like my newly renovated home office, where I'm glad I dared to invest in a wonderful wallpaper.

What types of colors do you like the most and why?

Coloring is my greatest interest. With fifteen years in a paint shop, I have extensive knowledge of this and am very fascinated by how colors affect us. I carefully consider the color choices in my home, have a neutral and calm base but like to paint ceilings in muted pastels. The dining room is a favorite, where I have the same mint green color on the walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Go for color pops and unexpected color combinations that often become very invigorating and interesting!

What trends in interior design do you see right now?

Investing in sustainable materials and preferably elements of vintage. Color and personal items that create a home you enjoy. Dare to choose what makes you happy!

What is your best interior design tip?

Have a plan when decorating, be consistent with materials. Declutter and keep only what you truly love, it's sustainable in the long run, and you won't get tired of it. Make a mood board, and you’ll clearly see what fits together. Coloring really makes all the difference! Remember, you are decorating for yourself and no one else.

A product you feel you cannot be without in a home, and why?

I have a weakness in life, and it's lighting. I would say that a designer lamp lasts a lifetime and makes the same difference in the home as stylish high-quality shoes do for your outfit.

Do you have a dream project you’d like to decorate?

It would be fantastic to help create environments for hotels, restaurants, and shops. Who knows what the future holds?

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers, perhaps about future projects, personal reflections, or industry insights?

I hope more people dare to decorate with a touch of color! Painting the ceiling gives a wonderful feeling in the room. The worst that can happen is you have to repaint!
